Fans of all ages, from all over the world will come together in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. to celebrate the cultural phenomenon that is Star Wars. Star Wars Celebration revels in the excitement of new movies, television shows, books and comics while also commemorating the vast history of the Star Wars universe.  Star Wars Celebration has something special for every kind of Star Wars fan!

Celebration - Lucasfilm's love letter to fans - is days of major announcements, immersive exhibits, an interactive show floor, screenings, exclusive merchandise, celebrity guests, panels, autograph sessions, fan-inspired activities, costumes and other surprises celebrating all things Star WarsStar Wars Celebration is truly a once in a lifetime experience where memories are made, families are brought together, old friends are reunited, and new friendships forged — all in the setting of the ever-evolving Star Wars universe.

Who is the organizer?

Beginning with Star Wars Celebration V, Star Wars Celebrations have been produced by Lucasfilm in cooperation with the ReedPOP group within Reed Exhibitions, the world's leading event producer. ReedPOP also runs New York Comic ConC2E2PAXOz Comic ConKeystone Comic Con, Comic Con Paris, Comic Con Africa, ComplexCon and many more events all over the world. All Star Wars Celebrations are official events produced in partnership with and under the authorization of Lucasfilm Ltd.

Please note that while the above are the hours for the Celebration Exhibit Hall, the show’s panels, screenings and live events could go on until 10pm or even later on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

Where can I purchase tickets to Star Wars Celebration?

Tickets will be available for purchase online beginning on June 5th at noon CDT through the Star Wars Celebration website. The details you seek are available.

Who needs a ticket?

All attendees six-years-old and up need a ticket for Star Wars Celebration. Kids aged 6-12 must purchase a Kids multi-day or single day ticket to attend the show. For those 13 and over, purchase of an adult ticket is required. Please be prepared to show proof of age onsite. Please note: all minors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent and/or guardian.

What are these Kids tickets all about?

Kids multi-day and single day tickets are for all fans aged 6-12. Similar to other tickets, Kids tickets can and will sell out, so be sure to get tickets for your kids early. Please be prepared to show proof of age onsite. Once all Kids tickets are sold out, no more will be released.

What is the ticket mailing deadline?

The ticket mailing deadline for Star Wars Celebration is February 27, 2019. If you are purchasing your tickets on or before the ticket mailing deadline your tickets will be mailed via USPS to the address you enter. International orders will have the option to have tickets mailed or picked up at Will Call in our Fan Services area. If you order 5 or more tickets, please note that UPS shipping will be automatically added to your order to ensure delivery. If you purchase your ticket after the ticket mailing deadline, you will have to wait in line at Will Call to pick up your tickets. When and where can I pick up my tickets?

Fans who bought their tickets after the ticket mailing deadline, or those who purchased in advance and live outside the United States, can pick up their badges at the Will Call counters in our Fan Services area. Please bring your photo ID and your confirmation email (either printed or displayed on a mobile device). Please check back soon for will call hours.

Will you have tickets for sale at the door?

We recommend you purchase your tickets to Star Wars Celebration as early as possible. We anticipate that there will be a very high demand for tickets and we wouldn’t want you to miss out! If there are tickets still available, you will be able to purchase them at Fan Services in the West Building. However, we anticipate that tickets will sell out early and well in advance of the show.  If tickets sell out before the show, no more will be made available to purchase.

What payment methods are available for ticket purchase?

Star Wars Celebration Chicago’s ticketing provider, Showclix, accepts PayPal and all major credit cards. Cash purchases are only available onsite at the event.

Is there a refund policy?

Tickets and/or badges (“Badges”) for the event (“Event”) are non-refundable and non-transferable and cannot be reproduced, resold or upgraded. The unauthorized resale or attempted resale of the Badge is prohibited and will constitute a forfeiture of the Badge without compensation. Each Badge must be used by the same person (the “Attendee”) for each day of the Event. The Event’s operating hours, schedules, guests and speakers are subject to change or cancellation without notice. Each Badge is a revocable license to attend the Event. All panels, autographing, photo ops, special events, show features and performances are subject to availability and access is not guaranteed and/or may require an additional fee. ReedPOP is not responsible for lost or stolen Badges. The Attendee acknowledges there are hazards and risks of physical injury or illness to Attendees of the Event and that not all such hazards or risks can be fully eliminated. By accepting this Badge and attending the Event, the Attendee freely and voluntarily agrees to assume the full risk of bodily injury or property damage, regardless of severity, or death that Attendee may sustain as a result of attending the Event, whether or not caused by the negligence or gross negligence of ReedPOP. I have a problem with my ticket purchase, can you help?

If you are experiencing a problem with your ticket purchase or order, we recommend contacting Showclix, our official ticketing provider. Showclix support staff is available to assist you via phone or e-mail with ticket order related issues. Please visit their support page.

Why haven't my tickets arrived yet?

Patience you must have! We will start shipping tickets in late March 2019. Our ticket mailing deadline is February 27, 2019 and the majority of our tickets will start shipping after that. Please check your Star Wars Celebration order confirmation email to confirm that your mailing address is correct. No address changes are permitted after March 8, 2019. Do you offer accommodations for those requiring medical assistance?

Star Wars Celebration will be releasing more information on additional accommodation processes in the coming months. Will the merchandise I ordered arrive with my tickets?

The Star Wars Celebration exclusive merchandise you ordered will arrive separately from your tickets. Rest assured that our droids will make sure you receive everything prior to your transport making the jump to lightspeed for Star Wars Celebration!

Can I buy a ticket for Star Wars Celebration if I do not live in the United States?

Yes, absolutely. Star Wars Celebration welcomes fans from all around the world.


Rules & Policies

Security at Star Wars Celebration

The safety and security of our staff, exhibitors and attendees is our priority. We work closely with the venue, corporate security, state, local and federal law enforcement authorities to identify risks, assess them and develop security plans for our events. Everyone attending Star Wars Celebration should be aware or the following security measures:

  • Security will be onsite at all times to assist you during all aspects of Star Wars Celebration
  • Everyone must wear their Star Wars Celebration badge at all times. This includes exhibitors, vendors, attendees, guests (speakers, talent, artists), professionals, press, staff, and crew.
  • A fully operational security team following our vetted procedures is in place at all times during Star Wars Celebration. Bag checks may occur at Star Wars Celebration.
  • Walkthrough or hand held scanners may be used at Star Wars Celebration
  • Any CCTV in operation at Star Wars Celebration is monitored and recorded
  • Uniformed and undercover security will be in attendance at Star Wars Celebration
  • Uniformed and undercover Police may be in attendance at Star Wars Celebration
  • Canine Security and Detection may be used in or around Star Wars Celebration

Everyone attending Star Wars Celebration is requested to:

  • Keep personal property with you at all times and do not leave any items unattended
  • If you see something, say something. Report anything that looks unusual, suspicious, or out of place to Star Wars Celebration staff or security immediately
  • Remain patient and courteous during security checks and follow the instructions of Star Wars Celebration staff and security at all times
  • Properly dispose of your Star Wars Celebration badge inside the venue or keep it as a souvenir – please do not sell it to scalpers or throw it away in trash cans outside the venue where it could be picked up
  • Carry a valid form of photo ID at all times
  • You as a fan are able to help us improve event security, fan safety and the overall happiness of everyone at or near Star Wars Celebration. While everyone attending Star Wars Celebration knows about costumes and props, the citizens of Chicago may be unaware of Star Wars Celebration and mistake prop weapons for real weaponry. If you have a weapon or prop that might intimidate or scare people, please be mindful of it as you carry it throughout the city streets and on public transit. If you have a weapon that might be misconstrued as a real weapon, please keep it concealed and do not carry it out in the open as you travel through Chicago. We would hate to cause unnecessary panic, upset, or unwarranted calls to 911. We really appreciate you being mindful of this and using common sense when it comes to props and costuming!

What do I do if I find or lose something?

What if I require First Aid or Medical Attention?

If you require first aid or medical attention, please contact any member of the Star Wars Celebration Crew or Staff. Additionally, you may visit First Aid in the each of the Star Wars Celebration venues.

What if I am harassed?

Harassment of any kind, including stalking, deliberate intimidation, unwelcome physical attention, physical assault and battery, will not be tolerated at Star Wars Celebration. If it's illegal outside the convention center, it's illegal inside the convention center. Harassment is grounds for removal from the convention without refund as well as potential legal action. We want Star Wars Celebration to be a safe, open and accepting environment for all fans. If you are being harassed, witness someone else being harassed or have any other concerns, please contact a member of the Star Wars Celebration staff immediately. We are happy to contact our security or local law enforcement, provide escort, a safe place or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to make sure they feel safe for the duration of the show. You can also report an incident via the Star Wars Celebration Mobile App. To do so, tap the Anti-Harassment Policy icon and follow the steps under Report Harassment. Please fill out the form in as much detail as possible so we can address the situation immediately and thoroughly. If you’re still in the area where the incident took place and you feel safe to stay there, our security team will meet you there.

What is your harassment policy?

Star Wars Celebration has a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for harassment of any kind, including but not limited to:

  • stalking
  • intimidation
  • offensive verbal comments
  • physical assault and/or battery
  • harassing or non-consensual photography or recording
  • sustained disruption of Panels, signings, and other events
  • bathroom policing
  • inappropriate physical contact
  • unwelcome physical attention

in relation to, but not limited to:

  • race
  • color
  • national origin
  • gender
  • gender identity
  • gender presentation
  • sexual orientation
  • age
  • body size
  • disability
  • appearance
  • religion
  • citizenship
  • pregnancy

If a person engages in harassing behavior of any kind our staff will take prompt action in any form they deem appropriate, including expulsion from Star Wars Celebration with no refund. Our policy applies to EVERYONE at the convention. Exhibitors, fans (attendees), speakers, guests, professionals, press, staff, crew and security are all subject to our Anti-Harassment policy and will be held to the same standards and disciplinary action.

What should I do if my child, friends, family or I get separated?

For assistance locating a lost party, please contact a Star Wars Celebration Crew or Staff Member. We suggest that when you arrive at Star Wars Celebration you and your party pick a location to meet in case anyone does get lost. In addition, we highly recommend you fill out the information section on the back of the kids’ badges so that we can contact you in the event you and your child get separated.

Can I bring a suitcase, stroller, handcart or something similar to the show?

Space is limited at Star Wars Celebration and we want to make sure everyone can easily move around the show. The following items are not permitted in the Show Floor:

  • Large strollers (umbrella or similar sized strollers are permitted)
  • Rolling luggage larger than 22”L x 14”W x 9”H
  • Handcarts
  • Trolleys
  • Cosplay wings spanning wider than 4’ from wingtip to wingtip

Due to space limitations, all of these items are not permitted in any of our panel rooms either.

If your item can be easily collapsed, you may be able to store it against the wall of a panel room, but please check with Staff at each room to ensure space availability.

What is your weapons policy?

Management shall have sole discretion in any matter that they believe may affect public safety or be important to protect the integrity of the event. Please review our entire weapons policy before attending Star Wars Celebration. Failure to adhere to our policy may result in your item being confiscated or your removal from the show without refund. If you’re bringing, buying or selling something that could maim, damage or cause serious bodily harm, we’re going to take issue.

The following items are forbidden from Star Wars Celebration:

  • Functional firearms (this also includes air soft guns, BB guns, cap guns, paintball guns and pellet guns)
  • Realistic replica firearms (including reproduction, fake or toy guns that can be confused for functional firearms)
  • Functional projectile weapons (including blow guns, crossbows, long bows, silly string, slingshots, water balloons and water guns)
  • Sharpened metal-bladed weapons (including axes, daggers, hatches, knives, kunai, shuriken, swords, sword canes and switch blades)
  • Explosives (including firecrackers and fireworks)
  • Chemical weapons (including mace and pepper spray)
  • Blunt weapons (including brass knuckles, hockey sticks, clubs, nunchaku, baseball bats)
  • Hard prop weapons (including props made of metal, fiberglass and glass)
  • Instruments that cause excessive noise levels like vuvuzelas, grenades, whistles and grenade horns
  • Whips
  • Aerosol mustard
  • Prop weapons will be allowed providing they are composed of foam or cardboard only. Prop firearms are allowed only if they cannot be mistaken for real weapons. The barrel of all prop weapons must be covered with brightly-colored caps. Prop bows will be allowed providing they have soft tips.

How do I make my cosplay prop weapons safe to bring to the show?

Prop weaponry is allowed on the condition that it is comprised of light materials such as foam, cardboard or a lighter wood/wood composite. Reproductions, fake or toy guns are permitted provided they have a brightly colored cap on the barrel. Metal-bladed weapons must be dull and kept in its sheath at all times. Please visit one of our Prop Check stations to have it tagged. Projectile weapons may be brought if the arrow/bolt tips are covered or foam. Please use your common sense - if your prop can be mistaken for a real weapon, do not bring it.

What happens at your prop check stations?

We utilize trail tape or zip ties to mark items as ‘safe’ and inspected. Once we have tagged your item, you are not permitted to remove it. We do our best to ensure that the trail tape can be easily hidden for photos. For items that go into sheaths, we will use zip ties, provided that it will not damage the sheath.

Can my cosplay prop be confiscated?

In the event you bring a prop that is deemed unsafe for the show, you have the option of returning it to your car/home or we will confiscate your item. Your item may be picked up at the end of the day at Fan Services. Any items that are not picked up by Monday at 6:00 PM will be discarded.

What does Star Wars Celebration think of bootlegs?

These are not the items you are looking for!  Star Wars Celebration is produced under the authorization of Lucasfilm Ltd., and the buying and selling of counterfeit / knock-off / unlicensed materials will not be tolerated. Star Wars Celebration showcases the best of Star Wars, and bootlegs have no place at the show. Violation of this rule will result in one and only one warning. A second violation will result in removal from the show without refund.

Can minors attend Star Wars Celebration unsupervised?

All minors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent and/or guardian.

Can you watch my kids?

Sorry, but we don’t have any nanny droids available in this system and our protocol droids are not programmed for that! Star Wars Celebration does not provide child care services of any kind onsite.

Is there a coat check/bag check?

There is a coat check on site to check any coats, bags and other small items during your time at the show.

Can I take pictures/video at the show?

For the most part, you're welcome to take still pictures and video at Star Wars Celebration; however, please note that all audio and visual recording is prohibited during screenings, concerts, and during many live stage shows. Also, please understand that guests may or may not pose for photographs with fans. Guests have a right to their privacy, and if they ask not to have their picture taken, please respect their wishes.

Are selfie sticks allowed?

No, selfie sticks are not allowed at Star Wars Celebration. We strongly encourage taking awesome selfies in all permitted areas, though—just leave the selfie sticks on your home planet!

Will I be on camera?

Star Wars Celebration attracts local, national, and international press. By attending Star Wars Celebration, you give your consent to be photographed and appear on camera. You could end up on starwars.com, Entertainment Tonight or even the evening news on Coruscant. In exchange for the opportunity to register and attend Star Wars Celebration, you hereby grant permission to Reed Exhibitions (a division of RELX Inc.), its employees and agents, to take, use and publish visual/audio/images of you at Star Wars Celebration, and you hereby waive any claim to compensation for use of such visual/audio/images. Visual/audio/images are any type of recording, including photographs, digital images, drawings, renderings, voices, sounds, video recordings, audio clips or accompanying written descriptions. You agree that Reed Exhibitions owns the images and all rights related to them. The images may be used by Reed Exhibitions in any manner or media without notifying you, such as the Star Wars Celebration website, publications, promotions, broadcasts, advertisements, and posters, for advertising or other related purposes. You waive any right to inspect or approve the finished images or any printed or electronic matter that may be used with them.

Do you offer wheelchairs for disabled attendees?

Wheelchairs, scooters, information booths, designated parking, TDD telephones and other services are available for fans with disabilities. Check back closer to the show for details about renting wheelchairs/electric scooters.

Can I bring my pet?

No. The only animals permitted at Star Wars Celebration are service animals.

Is there a mobile app?

Absolutely! The Star Wars Celebration Mobile App is the best source for up to the minute information, maps and information on the show. We highly encourage you to download it when it is ready. It will be live for download in early 2019.

How do I purchase a photo op?

Check back soon for more information on how to purchase select photo ops with guests. You will be able to find photo ops pricing and the full schedule on our website as soon as it’s available. We’ll announce when it’s live in our newsletter and on our social media pages. Once available, you will be able to purchase photo ops prior to the show via a designated sales page. Photo ops range in cost from approximately $30 all the way up to over $100 for solo and group photo ops. Check back soon for payment methods accepted and photo ops terms and conditions.  We do encourage you to pre-purchase Photo Ops when they become available as sessions can sell out quickly.

How do I purchase an autograph?

Check back soon for more information on how to purchase autographs with our guests. You will be able to find autographing pricing and the full schedule on our website as soon as it’s available. We’ll announce when it’s live in our newsletter and on our social media pages. Autographs can range in cost from free up to over $100 per autograph. Our autographing guests may provide 8x10 headshots for autographing OR they will autograph an item you bring with you, such as a comic book, photograph or other media/memorabilia. Autographing guests reserve the right to limit how many items they will sign for you. It is up to their discretion at the time of the signing. Check back soon for payment methods accepted and autographing terms and conditions.  We do encourage you to pre-purchase Autographs when they become available as sessions can sell out quickly.

Where can I find food at the show?

Fans at Star Wars Celebration can purchase meals in the 2nd Level Food Court in McCormick West, as well as in the Marriott Marquis Chicago and around the McCormick Place convention center area. The city of Chicago boasts wonderful restaurants and eating places as well for Celebration after-hours meals.

I am a Star Wars artist, and I would like to be in the Star Wars Art Show at Celebration

The Star Wars Celebration Art Show is open to official artists of Lucasfilm, Disney and the companies’ licensees only. To be considered for the juried selection of the Celebration Art Show, please check back at www.starwarscelebration.com on June 27, 2018 for details on submitting your work. No submissions will be accepted before this time.

I am a member of the Media. How do I get a media pass for Star Wars Celebration?

Star Wars Celebration media registration will open December 5, 2018 at www.starwarscelebration.com. No media applications will be considered before this time. Please note: Due to demand, Lucasfilm is limiting the number of media badges they are allocating for 2019. Because you have been granted a media badge in the past does not guarantee your approval for one for 2019. Once media registration opens it will take time to evaluate all the applications. Please allow time to receive your confirmation.
