What Is Star Wars Celebration?

The ultimate fan experience — focused on a galaxy far, far away...

The biggest party this side of the galaxy, Star Wars Celebration brings fans of all ages together, from all points of the globe, to celebrate the pop-culture phenomenon that is Star Wars.  Whether it's young fans of Star Wars: The Clone Wars or die-hards fueled by the nostalgia for the original Star Wars trilogy; curious, casual followers; gamers, readers, costumers or collectors — there's something for everyone at Celebration.

Both hardcore and casual fans will gather to have fun while celebrating their passion for all things Star Wars, discovering what's new, and being the first to see what's next.  It's four fun-filled days of exhibits, a vibrant, interactive show floor, screenings, exclusive merchandise, celebrity guests, panels, autograph sessions, fan-inspired activities, and other surprises.

Star Wars Celebration delivers a landmark experience where memories are made, families brought together, old friends reunited, and new friendships formed — all in the setting of the ever-evolving Star Wars universe.

Note that Star Wars Celebration's Exhibition Hall closes nightly at 7 PM (and 5 PM on Sunday), but panels, screenings, and special events could continue until 10 PM or later on Thursday through Saturday nights.

Where Is Star Wars Celebration?

Star Wars Celebration VI is held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida (9800 International Drive).  Like the Rebel Alliance, Star Wars Celebration doesn't have a permanent home.  Instead, it travels around the world to avoid Imperial detection — and to bring Star Wars to as many fans as possible.

Who's The Organizer?

Beginning with Star Wars Celebration V, Star Wars Celebrations have been produced by Lucasfilm, in cooperation with the ReedPOP group within Reed Exhibitions, the world's largest event organizer. ReedPOP also runs the New York Comic Con, Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo, PAX East and West, the UFC Fan Expos, and the Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention.  Other Reed Exhibitions shows include BookExpo America, the London Book Fair, and MIPCOM. Reed's publishing branch is responsible for magazines including Variety, Publishers Weekly, Video Business, and Playthings.  All Star Wars Celebrations are produced in partnership with and under the authorization of Lucasfilm Ltd.

Who Needs A Ticket?

All attendees six-years-old and up need a ticket to enter Star Wars Celebration.  Please note, Star Wars Celebration recommends all children under 18 attend with an adult, and all children under 13 must be accompanied by a grown up.  Discounted Child Passes are available for attendees who are between six and 12-years-old.  For full details on all of our tickets, visit the Tickets page.

Can I Be Involved?

Star Wars Celebration is an event for fans and would not be possible without the help of fans. Our Crew application is currently closed as we build a Grand Army of helpers to make Celebration VI a great experience for all. Be sure to say hello and thank you to our intrepid leaders as they work to make your experience even better!

Who Are The Guests?

Star Wars Celebration VI could feature guests from the six-movie Star Wars Saga,  The Clone Wars television series, the Star Wars Expanded Universe, and from popular culture.  Plans are still in the works, but rest assured Star Wars Celebration VI promises to be even bigger and better than anything you've seen before.  New guest announcements will appear right here throughout 2011 and 2012, leading right up to the show.

What Kind Of Events Can I Expect?

Costuming workshops, academic discussions, behind-the-scenes insights, fan films, and sneak peeks at the future of Star Wars are all elements of Celebration. Star Wars Celebration's panels, screenings, and special events will show off the passion of some of the Saga's most dedicated fans and professionals, and information on programming, and opportunities to get involved yourself, will be made available here beginning in Fall 2011.

Can I Take Pictures?

For the most part, you're welcome to take still pictures and video at Star Wars Celebration; however, please note that all audio and visual recording is prohibited during screenings, concerts, and during many live stage shows. Also, please understand that guests may or may not pose for photographs with fans. Guests have a right to their privacy, and if they ask not to have their picture taken, please respect their wishes.

Will I Be On Camera?

Star Wars Celebration attracts local, national, and international press. By attending Star Wars Celebration, you give your consent to be photographed and appear on camera.  You could end up on starwars.com, G4, or even the evening news on Coruscant.

Will Guests Sign Autographs?

Star Wars Celebration's full schedule, including scheduled autograph signings, will be published on starwarscelebration.com close to the show. Guests who are autographing will decide what it is appropriate for them to sign, but  they will not sign bootleg merchandise. Also, please only bring one item to be signed during each autograph session and understand that guests may or may not pose for photographs with fans.

Will There Be WiFi?

In the OCCC’s public spaces, concourse, and food court, the building offers free WiFi.  This is a limited service like at a coffee shop for checking email and general surfing. All devices, including iPhones, can use this service.  However, if you’d like more bandwidth and access in conference rooms, you may update to the OCCC’s “Instant Internet” option for $12.95 a day.  If you need WiFi on the show floor, you will need to purchase “Exhibitor Internet”.  This option is $99.95 for one day, $199.95 for three days, and $299.95 for five days.

Can I Bring A Blaster? Can I Buy A Blaster?

For the safety of all convention attendees, volunteers, guests, and staff, there are restrictions on what can be bought, sold, and brought into Star Wars Celebration. Failure to follow this policy may result in your removal from the convention without refund. View the weapons policy.

What Does Celebration Think Of Bootlegs?

Star Wars Celebration is produced under the authorization of Lucasfilm Ltd., and the buying and selling of counterfeit / knock-off / unlicensed materials will not be tolerated. Star Wars Celebration showcases the best of Star Wars, and bootlegs have no place in the show. Violation of this rule will result in one warning. A second violation will result in removal from the show with no refunds.
