Family Room

Family Fun in the Family Room

Family Fun!Star Wars Celebration VI will offer endless opportunities for young fans to have fun. The Family Room will be an exciting place for kids to hang out together with their families, designed with younger Star Wars fans in mind. Open every day of the show, the Family Room offers a variety of fun activities that kids and their families can participate in together. Parents and kids can drop in at any time to make a craft, play a game, or just relax in a comfy chair with a Star Wars book. The Family Room is a large space, and multiple activities will be going on all the time. Coloring, crafts, games, and puzzles are always available. Other activities, such as droid painting, drawing lessons, and Building Challenges, are offered at scheduled times throughout the Convention. Whenever you stop by, there is sure to be something fun going on.

More great Family Room activities are being added all the time, but here are just a few to give you an idea of what you can look forward to.

Jawa Painting with Pat

endless opportunities for young fans to have funFollowing the success of Celebration V’s Droid Painting activity, Pat will be back with an all new project—Jawa Painting. Each participant will be given the pieces they need to complete a Jawa figure, including its signature glowing yellow eyes. They will be given the opportunity to paint on their own details and to pose the Jawa as they wish. Once completed, each participant will have a custom Jawa of their very own.

Building Challenges with Chad

Think bottles, cups, and containers belong in the trash? Chad will show you there’s more than one way to recycle when he helps kids turn old junk into new Star Wars models. Using everyday household materials and limited only by imagination, kids will be taught to create droids, lightsabers, or starships. No previous building skills are required; Chad will teach you everything you need to know. One challenge will be taught per day, so kids can stop by and make one or all of them.

“This Deal is Getting Worse all the Time!” with Jedi Eddy

Jedi EddyJedi Eddy will be hosting a game show for kids and their families. Think “Let’s make a Deal” but with a Star Wars twist! Contestants will be recruited from the audience to see if they have what it takes to make a deal with the Empire! Make the right deal and you could end up with a nice little bounty, but beware, the deal could always get worse, and you could end up with a "Gonk" droid!   This game will be geared toward kids; but their families are encouraged to participate with them. As with "Let's make a Deal", coming in costume is encouraged! And since you never know what the Empire might ask for, you might want to bring small items that represent the Galactic Empire or bounty hunters...yes, even those Rebel scum!  If you are selected and do have something they're looking for, the Empire will compensate you. ...if you don't like the deal, pray that we don't alter it any further!
