Art Show Application
Art Show Application
The Star Wars Celebration Art Show is open to artists who’ve worked with Lucasfilm, Disney and the companies’ licensees only. If you have created licensed work for Lucasfilm, Disney, or one of their licensees, you will be able to submit your work to be considered for the juried selection of the Celebration Art Show.
Star Wars Celebration Los Angeles Art Show Guidelines
The Art Show is a fan favorite feature of Star Wars Celebration - a specially curated Artist Alley. It brings artists together of all disciplines and styles to celebrate Star Wars with original artwork created just for Star Wars Celebration.
In order to be eligible to participate in the Star Wars Celebration Los Angeles Art Show, you must have previously created Star Wars art for Lucasfilm, Disney, or one of the companies’ official licensees. Licensed art includes but is not limited to sketch cards, comics, posters, and consumer products packaging. Fan art and personal commissions do not qualify as officially licensed art and will not be accepted for consideration. There will be no exceptions to this requirement.
The application process consists of two rounds - (1) verification of licensed artwork and (2) submission of original concepts.
First round submissions will be accepted between July 13, 2026 and August 21, 2026. We will not accept submissions outside of this review period. Please submit 3-5 examples of your artwork along with a brief summary of your experience with creating licensed artwork. Please include any supplementary links to an online portfolio. Submissions should be emailed to CelebrationArtShow@lucasfilm.com.
We will evaluate all submissions and provide an application status update by September 4, 2026. Applicants will be notified if they are able to participate in the next round.
Artists selected to move forward will be asked to submit one or two concepts of their piece for the Art Show. Concepts should be original, unique pieces of art intended for an exclusive run at Star Wars Celebration. Concepts should be submitted without the artists’ signature. The anonymous concepts will be evaluated by a team of artistic talent at Lucasfilm. Concepts are due on October 23, 2026.
Because all artwork will be selected with the artists’ names hidden, we would encourage the submitted concepts to be as close to final as possible, since a rough sketch – without knowing the style and reputation of the artist -- will often be at a disadvantage next to finished works.
Lucasfilm will notify all applicants on second round results by December 1, 2026.
Please note artists are responsible for their own travel, accommodations, and expenses to exhibit at Star Wars Celebrations Los Angeles, including your exclusive prints for sale.
